The Invitation of Brokenness
Broken stories rarely begin with a loud crash. More often, they start quietly. They begin with fatigue, fear, and questions we don’t know how to answer.
In this episode of the Radiant Grace Podcast, I share my personal journey through brokenness and the lessons it has slowly taught me. What I once viewed as failure, I am beginning to recognize as an invitation.
Brokenness is not a verdict. It is often the place where awareness begins.
The Beginning of Broken Things
This episode explores what it means to reach a place where your strength no longer carries you the way it once did. I talk about living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and how physical and mental health challenges reshaped not only my capacity but also my understanding of grace.
Through this journey, I have learned that brokenness does not disqualify us from God’s love. Instead, it often becomes the very space where we encounter Him more deeply.
A Shift in Perspective
Brokenness is not the end of the story. It is where the story begins to change. There is a quiet moment when we realize something in us has shifted.
Maybe it is exhaustion. Maybe it is grief. Perhaps it is a diagnosis that rearranges life overnight.
For me, brokenness came through FND. It manifested in a body that did not cooperate and fear that whispered I might not be able to keep living the life I had built.
But God met me there. Not after healing. Not once everything was fixed. He met me right there in the middle of it.
An Invitation to Reflect
This episode is an invitation to notice the heaviness in your own life. Consider where God may already be meeting you within it.
Key Takeaways
Brokenness is often just the beginning of awareness.
FND may walk beside me, but it does not get to define me.
God has not asked me to wait until I am healed to live my life.
Brokenness is never the end of the story.
Your tears matter — and they can become testimony too.
Reflection
Where in your life does something feel heavy or unfinished?
What if that place is not evidence of failure but an invitation to pause and notice God’s presence there?

The Power of Vulnerability
Vulnerability can be daunting. It feels like standing on the edge of a cliff, unsure of what lies below. Yet, it is in this very space that we often find our greatest strength.
When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we open the door to deeper connections. We invite others to share in our struggles, and in doing so, we create a community of support.
Finding Strength in Community
I have found that sharing my journey has not only helped me heal but has also encouraged others to do the same. When we speak our truths, we create a ripple effect. Others feel empowered to share their stories, too.
This is the beauty of community. We are not alone in our brokenness. Together, we can lift each other up and find hope in the darkest of times.
Embracing the Journey
As we navigate our journeys, let us remember that brokenness is not a destination. It is a process. It is a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns.
Embrace the journey. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that come with it. Acknowledge the pain, but also celebrate the small victories along the way.
Conclusion: A New Beginning
In conclusion, brokenness is not something to fear. It is an invitation to grow, to reflect, and to connect with God and others.
Let us lean into our brokenness and allow it to transform us. Together, we can turn our stories of struggle into testimonies of hope and grace.
So, I invite you to take a moment. Reflect on your own journey. What lessons can you draw from your experiences? How can you use your story to inspire others?
Remember, you are not alone. We are all in this together, and together, we can find healing and strength in our brokenness.
